I told Bert about a story I've read about Emilio Aguinaldo.
Naoperahan pala siya sa appendix and later, it was found out that doctors left a piece of gauze in his stomach.
Bert: Gauze? Edi nakakatakot pala ang nangyari sa kanya?
Me: Oo naman sayo ba naman mangyari yun e.
Bert: Eh ano binabalikan ba daw sya? Dinadalaw pa rin?
Me: Huh?
Bert: Diba gauze? Nakakatakot yun diba?

I'm making two - one for Bert and one for Carlo.
Bert: Hindi ba nakakapagod gumawa ng sandwich?
Me: Hindi naman.
Bert: Hmmmm... eh diba pag nilagyan mo ng MUSTARD, nakakapagod?
Whatever. Must tired. Ngok!

Contact lens at Sopas
May bagong contact lens ang housemate namin na c J.
Bert: Oi ganda ng contact lens mo ah. Anong grade nyan?
J: Nasa 200 or 250 ata kuya.
Bert: Ah bakit hindi grade 7?
J: Huh? Eh yun ang sukat ko eh.
Bert: Dapat grade 7 para marunong ka na magbasa!
Ngok!
One lunch time, nagluluto ako ng sopas.
Bert: Ano food mo ngayon?
Me: Luto ako ng sopas.
Bert: Ah oo ok yan. Mabilis! (So fast?)
Oo nga naman. :)

T is for throat
May sakit ang gwapo kong asawa -- ubo, sipon, sakitg ulo at sore throat.
Pagkatapos mag breakfast, nagtanong sya: (as usual serious)
Bert: Pag ba may sore throat ka ano masakit sayo?
Me: Syempre throat, minsan ulo, tapos minsan dibdib.
Bert: Hindi ba dapat throat lang?
Me: Pwede pero minsan nga kasabay ulo at dibdib.
Bert: Ha? Edi ba pag sore throat, it will always be the throat and nothing but the throat? (Truth!)
Hayyyy.... Partida na yan may sakit na.
Pero di pa natapos jan. Habang nagplaplantsa ako may narinig akong kumakanta...
Bert: A is for the candy treat around the Christmas tree. B is for the candy treat around the Christmas tree. C is for the candy treat around the Christmas tree....
In fairness nag-iiba naman ang tono. :)
